Terms of use

These terms govern your use of The Tax List, an independent directory operated by AM Tax Inc. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
The directory
The Tax List helps people discover tax and accounting professionals. Listings, services, languages, and most credentials are supplied by professionals and may be self-reported. Unless a profile shows a specific “Credentials verified” badge, The Tax List has not independently verified the credential. Additional certifications are self-reported. The directory does not guarantee a professional’s availability, qualifications, accuracy, or work quality, and a listing is not an endorsement or recommendation.
Visitors are responsible for deciding whether a professional is suitable and for agreeing directly with that professional on scope, fees, and services. The Tax List does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice through the directory.
Accounts and listings
Keep your account information accurate and protect your password and sign-in codes. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may publish a professional profile and choose the public information and contact details displayed. You must have the right to submit profile photos, text, and other material you upload, and you must not impersonate another person or misrepresent a license or credential.
By submitting content, you give AM Tax Inc. permission to store, review, display, and use that content as needed to operate the directory and the features you request. You keep ownership of your content. We may remove content, restrict a listing, or suspend an account when reasonably needed to protect users, enforce these terms, address legal requirements, or maintain the service.
Credential review and paid plans
Credential review is separate from listing in the directory. Where shown, the paid verification plan is $14.99 per year, renews automatically each year until canceled, and requires an eligible credential submission for review. Payment does not guarantee approval. Only credentials approved by an administrator receive the corresponding verified badge. A badge may be removed if the subscription ends, the credential is no longer valid, or an approval is withdrawn.
You can manage or cancel a subscription through the billing controls in your account. Cancellation stops future renewal; access and the badge may remain through the end of the paid period. Review the checkout screen for the price, renewal timing, and any promotion terms before you pay. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Refunds and cancellation rights are subject to applicable law and the terms shown at checkout.
Reviews and conduct
Reviews must reflect a genuine experience, be relevant, and not contain unlawful, deceptive, abusive, private, or confidential information. Reviews are moderated before publication. The Tax List does not currently verify that a reviewer was a client. We may reject or remove reviews that violate these terms or our moderation standards. Do not post someone else’s contact information, tax documents, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive records.
You may not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt to access another person’s account or restricted data, submit malicious code, scrape the directory in a way that harms the service, or use the site to violate another person’s rights or the law.
Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. The website may link to third-party websites or services, including professional websites, Stripe checkout, email services, hosting services, and optional AI article tools. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to their services.
Service availability and liability
We work to keep the site available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, the site and directory are provided “as is” and “as available.” AM Tax Inc. is not responsible for decisions made based on a listing, a professional’s services, user-submitted content, third-party services, or temporary site interruptions. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
Account closure and changes
You may delete your account using the account security settings. Some information may be retained where needed for legal, payment, security, moderation, or dispute-resolution purposes. We may update these terms and post the revised version here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms, to the extent allowed by law.
